La Luz del Camino Legal Team

June 10, 2026

Dear Client,

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that our law firm will be closing its doors and will no longer be providing legal representation.

As many of you know, our firm has faced increasing challenges and unjust scrutiny in recent years. After careful consideration, we have determined that closing the firm is the best course of action. This decision was not made lightly. Our clients have always been at the center of everything we do, and making this announcement is one of the most difficult moments in our firm’s history.

For Alexandra, our Founder and former lead attorney, every client was like a member of her family and she cared deeply for each and every case. It is heartbreaking for her and the team that we have had to take this drastic step.

Your case and your future are important to us. We want to ensure that you have the information you need as we wind down operations.

Important Information

A team of attorneys who may have worked on your case previously are taking on clients from Luz Legal. If you would like your case to be transferred to them, please enter your information at:

https://luzlegal.com/transferir-mi-caso

1. You will receive a copy of your file.
You do not need to request your case file. We will be sending a link to an electronic copy of your case file to you as part of this process. It is our goal to transmit case files to clients within 60 days, though it is possible it may take longer. If you have not received your case file by then, you may contact us using the following website: https://luzlegal.com/aviso-importante/contact-us

2. Firm communications will be limited.
As the firm closes, our phone lines and email accounts will no longer be monitored on an ongoing basis. If you need information regarding the closure process, please use the website provided above.

3. Refund requests.
We are internally reviewing all cases to determine whether a refund may be appropriate. Please note that if your case has been submitted, you may not be entitled to a refund.

Please give us time to go through this process. However, if you believe you may be entitled to a refund, you may submit a request through the website listed above. Each request will be reviewed individually and carefully. This will take time, and we request your patience during this time.

4. Keep your address updated with USCIS.
It is CRITICAL that you keep your address current with USCIS. You should IMMEDIATELY submit Form AR-11 to make sure USCIS has a current address for you and not the firm’s address. If your address changes in the future, you should submit another Form AR-11. Here is a link to the USCIS address-change page: https://www.uscis.gov/ar-11

The firm will be monitoring incoming mail from USCIS for 30 days from today and will forward any notices or communications about your case to you electronically during that time. Failure to immediately update your address with USCIS could cause you to miss important notices regarding your case after 30 days.

5. Seek new legal counsel as soon as possible.
You should promptly consult with another qualified immigration attorney regarding your case. Once you retain new counsel, it will be your responsibility to provide them with the documents and information necessary to continue your matter.

6. Pay close attention to all deadlines and notices.
You remain responsible for monitoring your case and complying with any deadlines established by USCIS, the immigration courts, or any other government agency. Missing a deadline could have serious consequences for your immigration matter.

As we close this chapter, we want to express our deepest gratitude to the clients who placed their trust in us and to the dedicated team members who worked tirelessly on behalf of immigrant families every day.

For years, our mission has been to serve our community and fight for those seeking protection and opportunity in the United States. We are proud of the work we have done, proud of the lives that have been changed, and proud of the dedicated professionals who stood alongside our clients throughout their journeys.

To every client we have had the privilege of serving, thank you for your trust. We sincerely wish you and your families safety, success, and the very best in the future.
